Nadège Meden



Nadège Meden is a young French soprano known for “seducing the public with her dazzling high notes.” She possesses a rich timbre and an ease for coloratura.

Shining in the roles of the Verdi heroines she feels equally at home in 19th century French repertoire, Mozart, Gluck, Wagner and Puccini.

In the 2016/17 Season, under the musical direction of Alexandre Myrat and Amaury Closel she sang both Freia and Woglinde (Rheingold) alternatively. Pierre Thirion-Vallet staged the production at the Vendome Academy. Nadège also sang the roles of Dido (Dido and Aeneas), and Mercedes (Carmen). She has participated in galas at Salon de Provence (Jeunes Talents) and in Luxembourg in collaboration with Nei Stemmen.This season she covered the role of Tosca in Opera di Busetto and was Carmen in Amsterdam. Last January, she was finalist in Teatro Regio di Parma voce verdiana program and in February in Teatro Communale di Modena for the course with Mirella Freni. She will be Pamina in Amsterdam in April. She will be Venus in Orphée aux Enfers and will cover Elettra in Idoméneo in Baugé Festival next summer. She will debut next month in Fiordiligi with Hasting Philarmonic Orchestra and Choir. She will perform at the festival Musica Le Mans.

A recent recipient of the FOCUNA grant (Fonds du Ministère de la Culture Luxembourgeois) she was selected to participate in a week long master class series with Jennifer Larmore.

She has taken part in several master classes with internationally renowned artists such as Michel Plasson, Françoise Pollet, Carlo Gaïfa, Cheryl Studer, Karine Deshayes, and Maestro Carlo Guidarini among many. In 2014, she obtained a scholarship for a master class with Grace Bumbry.

Passionate about classical music, Nadège began to study the piano at the age of 5. She received her bachelors in Musicology at La Sorbonne but on the advice of Maestro Carlo Gaifa (Academy of La Scala) she devoted herself entirely to singing. She holds a Diploma of Musical Studies with accolades from the president of the jury and international mezzo-soprano Viorica Cortez. She also holds a Diploma of Concert from the Schola Cantorum in Paris. Nadège has studied and performed internationally (France, Germany, Italy, and England) and is fluent in the subsequent  languages. Currently, she works under the patronage of Nadine Denize.
